Okashii!

"Okashii" means humorous/funny:

We saw a sign in SPANISH! (left) That was really surprising... but maybe not for Roppongi, which is pretty "international". I've heard that all the gaijin go clubbing there, including my Austrailian professor!

Left: "Engrish" as seen on a sign outside a fitting room. I could not understand it at all, nor could M!

And now for the expensive part.... These are products at the Tokyu Food Show in Shibuya. Owned by Tokyu Corporation (like almost everything in this town), and FANCY as hell. They carry a lot of international items, but at saw-off-your-right-arm prices.

I made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, so I needed oatmeal... the best price I found was 525Y for a *tiny* bin of what looked to be crappy oatmeal! I had to explain to my host family that oatmeal is what you eat when you can't afford to eat!
