This is the "golden pavillion", it is coated in gold leaf. My friend A tells me that the inside of it is really neat... all black lacquer! But alas, not many get to see the inside! It is a temple/shrine... but constructed by a politician/lord so not really religious.
LEFT: Some Japanese middle school students wanted to get a picture with me! One boy introduced himself in very polite english, it was adorable! They were all shocked when I replied in Japanese. We chattered on and realized that they are from Tokyo area (Saitama)!
